Mechanical Designer/EIT

Spur Design is looking for a full-time Mechanical Designer/EIT to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate is organized, a self-starter, detail oriented, and collaborative.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Provide mechanical engineering design (HVAC and Plumbing disciplines) and documentation on projects within Spur Design offices including client liaison, site investigations, design, plan drafting, contract documentation, and construction administration.

  • Perform mechanical engineering tasks including, but not limited to, production of contract documents, specifications, design narratives, drafting, HVAC and plumbing calculations, and submission packages.

  • Take responsibility for time management of assigned jobs.  Keep an accurate daily record of the time spent on each assigned job.

  • Travel for (but not limited to) site visits/investigations, professional collaboration, and satellite office visits.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited four-year college or university in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field.

  • Have passed or plan to take the NCEES approved FE (fundamentals of engineering) Exam.

  • Able to balance deadlines, responsiveness to project changes, and maintain the quality of both.

  • Willing to learn and grow in the position and job field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with various software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Bluebeam, etc.

  • Drafting knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and Revit is a plus

  • Previous related experience is a plus.

  • Health Insurance and retirement benefits are included in the Total Annual Compensation and are the choice of each individual employee.

  • Retirement benefits include matching 401k contributions of 1-for-1 matching up to 3% and 1-for-2 matching up to 5%, with a maximum match of 4% for a 5% employee contribution.  This plan is a “safe harbor” eligible plan and, subsequently, no vesting period is required past initial eligibility requirements.

  • Spur Design also offers reimbursement of training and professional organization dues or fees with prior approval by ownership up to a certain amount.

Electrical Designer/EIT

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide electrical engineering design and documentation on projects within Spur Design offices including client liaison, site investigations, design, contract documentation and construction administration.

  • Perform electrical engineering tasks including, but not limited to, production of contract documents, specifications, design narratives, electrical calculations, and submission packages.
