Spur Design has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Architect to join our team in our Phoenix, AZ or Oklahoma City, OK office. The successful candidate will possess 10+ years relevant architectural experience in the A/E/C industry. We are seeking a well-organized, detail-oriented individual with solid background in organizing and putting together complete sets of construction documents and coordinating with engineering and other consultants, clients, contractors, and project teams. Our future team member must be highly motivated, efficient, creative, organized, articulate, and personable, and be able to help manage a variety of projects. They will easily collaborate with other designers and consultants and be able to monitor the work effort, and maintain overall quality control of the product and provided service.

Spur Design, LLC, has an immediate opening for a self-motivated and detail oriented Senior Project Architect to join our team at our Oklahoma City or Phoenix offices.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the definition, development, and implementation of creative concepts according to the Scope of Work and client specifications of large or complex projects

  • Collaborate with Director of Operations, Project Manager (PM), junior designers, and sub- consultants to supervise the teams' design and technical delivery in order to develop a project from initial idea to profitable completion

  • Prepare and ensure the completion of, fully coordinated Construction Document sets that comply with all project and code requirements while supervising, instructing, and providing direction to junior designers

  • Conduct project research

  • Daily responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Sub-consultant coordination at production and drawing coordination level

    • Ensure compliance with Spur Design standards and quality control

    • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure effective and efficient use of staff and resources

    • Produce and oversee technical documentation

    • Monitor design processes to ensure consistency of design intent

  • Coordinates and oversees internal team meetings and reviews

  • Review all project correspondence, meeting notes and other data to keep fully informed on the project

  • Participate in weekly/monthly project in progress reviews and report to the Director of Design and Director of Operations on the project's progress against program, fee, deliverables and Scope of Work

  • Assist Project Managers in project proposal development

  • Develop and maintain a BIM execution plan

  • Manage and maintain project BIM model in accordance with Spur Design standards

  • Coordinate Newforma project files and access

  • Along-side Project Manager, interact with building officials before and during project permitting

  • Participate in client meetings

  • Conduct on-site observations and draft reports

  • Assist in providing oversight and guidance to Project Architects

  • Participate in Facility Condition Assessments as needed

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed architect with professional degree

  • 10+ years professional experience in A/E/C firm with design and management responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Revit and the ability to use or learn industry standard management software including Microsoft Excel, Project, Newforma, and others

  • Ability to successfully complete Quality Assurance / Quality Control process with minimal supervision

  • Extensive knowledge of architectural detailing and current construction standards

  • Understanding of structural, MEP and other design related disciplines

  • Experience in federal (VA and/or FAA), commercial, healthcare

  • Strong communication skills, both written & verbal

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and collaborate with other team members

  • Able to meet challenging deadlines while producing a quality product

  • Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently

  • Accountable and results-oriented

  • Ability to travel

Marketing Administrator and Proposal Writer

Spur Design is looking for a full-time A/E Marketing/Proposal Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is organized, a self-starter and collaborative. Primary responsibilities include proposal development and production, interview presentations, coordination of technical and other marketing information, and support of various marketing initiatives. The job requirements for this position are as follows:

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Write, edit, and proofread a variety of proposal types including private sector, municipal, state and local proposals, SF330’s, technical proposals, qualifications packages, and presentations for both in-house and external distribution.

  • Work with the Director of Marketing to submit all proposals timely and appropriately per Request for Qualifications (RFQ) instructions.

  • Coordinate and organize large amounts of technical and graphical information, including photography, proposal content, external subconsultant data, and marketing materials including brochures, handouts, etc.

  • Interface with technical staff, graphics team, and Director of Marketing to create technically accurate and visually appealing marketing material

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, media/PR, business, or related field

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Graphic design knowledge and experience; proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign and Photoshop

  • Knowledge and experience with Standard Form 330 preparation a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
