Spur Design is looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and lead in performing the planning, designing, and managing of the MEP engineering work within the company. Job Requirements:

Provide Mechanical/Plumbing Engineering design, guidance, and documentation on projects within Spur Design offices including client liaison, site investigations, contract documentation, and construction administration.
Develop detailed Mechanical/Plumbing Design drawings and specifications from the schematic stage to complete construction documents utilizing Revit MEP or other modeling software.
Perform Mechanical/Plumbing Engineering tasks including, but not limited to, production of contract documents, specifications, design narratives, calculations, equipment selections, and submission packaging.
Be able to understand and apply codes, design guidelines, engineering judgment, company standards, and industry best practices related to personal growth, development, and providing outstanding service to Spur’s clients.
Manage prioritizing project work proactively and provide program management within a multi-disciplinary project team.
Take responsibility for time management of assigned jobs. Keep an accurate daily record of the time spent on each assigned job.
Maintain and update office systems including Revit (BIM) libraries, filing systems, and project management tools.
Travel for, but not limited to, site visits, professional collaborations, and satellite office visits.
Work with the Mechanical Director and Mechanical design team to contribute toward the improvement of Spur Design’s methods and processes.
Attend office meetings and report on a regular basis regarding the progress of individual projects.
Support requests for assistance related to marketing, project interviews, level of effort estimates, and project proposals.
Help to mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities for growth and professional development.
At all times be a good steward for Spur both inside and outside the office.

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of experience in Mechanical and Plumbing design in a construction-based (AEC) industry.
Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited four-year college or university in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field preferred.
PE Licensure is required.
Able to balance project deadlines, responsiveness to project changes, training of junior staff, push the design standards of the department forward, and maintain the quality of them all.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high attention to detail.
Proficiency with various software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Bluebeam, etc.
Drafting knowledge and experience a priority
REVIT experience is preferred
AutoCAD experience is a plus
Other industry related experience in the field is a plus

Have passed or plan to take the NCEES approved FE (fundamentals of engineering) Exam.

Job Requirements:

Working in collaboration with the Director of Operations, Architectural Lead, and Project Manager Lead, the Architect will help support the management of multiple projects from inception through completion and are primarily responsible for managing client expectations and ensuring that delivery meets that expectation

The Principal of Operations is responsible for developing uniformly high production standards and monitoring projects to ensure that quality and production standards are met for all design and contract documents. The Principal of Operations is the active communication link between Operations, Finance, and Marketing. Job Requirements:

Partner with the director of culture and firm leadership to help ensure a positive, supportive, inclusive, and effective working environment are maintained.
Develop and implement strategies to keep employees motivated and dedicated to the mission.
Proactive communication and collaboration with Project Teams to ensure design technology tools, office standards and resources meet business needs.
Work with the fellow directors being the liaison between HR and management on all hiring needs, learning/mentoring activities, and professional development opportunities.
Coordinating with teams to implement strategies and cross training efforts.
Analyze budgets to minimize expenses without sacrificing profits.
Identify problems and develop effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
Monitor changing market conditions and adjusting strategies accordingly.

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in Mechanical and Plumbing design in a construction-based (AEC) industry.
Bachelor’s degree required: focus in Architecture, Engineering, Business, Construction, or other related fields.
Minimum of 10 years of Operations Management experience in an Architectural/Engineering firm and/or related Construction management experience is strongly preferred.
Architecture/Engineering practitioner experience is strongly preferred with a thorough understanding of all project design, documentation, and construction phases / process.
Leadership experience with a focus on developing and championing firm-wide initiatives.
Ability to champion firm wide initiatives across all levels of the firm to ensure firm-wide standards are successfully adopted and applied consistently.
Advanced proficiency with project and resource planning and implementation.
Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills.
Ability to take a complex idea/concept and deliver it in a way that makes sense to day-to-day users.
Meticulous attention to detail, quality, and thoroughness: great problem solving and analytical skills.
Proactive and able to work independently with good judgement and minimal direction.
Highly organized and capable of effectively handling multiple project and tasks concurrently with the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Adaptable and resourceful in handling shifting, sometimes competing, priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining a friendly, positive, and helpful attitude.
Must maintain strict confidence and discretion around highly sensitive information.

Health Insurance, employer covers 100% of employee premiums and 50% of family premiums
Dental Insurance, employer covers 100% of employee premiums and 50% of family premiums
Vision Insurance. employer covers 100% of employee premiums and 50% of family premiums
Retirement benefits include matching 401k contributions of 1-for-1 matching up to 3% and 1-for-2 matching up to 5%, with a maximum match of 4% for a 5% employee contribution. This plan is a “safe harbor” eligible plan and, subsequently, no vesting period is required past initial eligibility requirements.
Spur Design also offers reimbursement of training and professional organization dues or fees with prior approval by ownership.
