Additional Information
This new Cancer Treatment Center was designed to complement the surrounding buildings on the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center campus with matching brick, cast stone, and aluminum window systems. The interior was designed with a balance of aesthetics, durability and timelessness in order to create a welcoming environment for veterans and their families.
The intent of this project was to create a full-service Cancer Treatment Center to serve the Shreveport area by including medical oncology, radiation oncology and hematology services under one roof. The Medical Oncology Department included (14) chemotherapy bays, an isolation room, pharmacy, blood draw, (8) exam rooms and triage. The Radiation Oncology Department included (2) linear accelerators, a computed tomography (CT) simulator, (3) exam rooms, an exam procedure room, dosimetry, and physics lab.
Spur Design issued 100% Construction Documents, but the project was canceled due to budget restraints.

Principal of Operations
Job Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Job Type: Full-time
The Principal of Operations is responsible for developing uniformly high production standards and monitoring projects to ensure that quality and production standards are met for all design and contract documents. The Principal of Operations is the active communication link between Operations, Finance, and Marketing. They must be thoroughly familiar with entire architectural and engineering processes and should possess managerial capability to lead and direct activities of all project-team personnel while monitoring technical production on all projects to ensure adherence to quality standards at high productivity. The Principal of Operations must be adaptable and resourceful in handling shifting, sometimes competing, priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining a friendly, positive, and helpful attitude.
Job Requirements:

Develop and execute a strategic plan for firm-wide Architectural and Engineering Operations ensuring the plan complements the broader firm-wide initiatives.
-
Ownership of all day-to-day and executional responsibilities of firm-wide Architectural, Engineering, and Construction Administration operations.

Oversee project staffing assignments and ensure employees are appropriately utilized, leveraged, and engaged.
-
Monitoring future workload and pipeline to ensure adequate staffing levels.
-
Ensure each projects’ scope, Schedule, and Budget are met.

Develop and maintain project management and project delivery processes
-
Ensure the firms Project Delivery System is followed so all projects stay on track and meet established quality standards and processes.

Keep firm management informed of project schedules and financial performance- be the active communications link between Operations, Finance, and Marketing.

Create long-term plans and initiatives to accomplish company goals. Develop presentations to communicate with executives about plans and strategies.

Develop a system for obtaining client feedback and monitoring
-
Partner with the director of culture and firm leadership to help ensure a positive, supportive, inclusive, and effective working environment are maintained.

Develop and implement strategies to keep employees motivated and dedicated to the mission.
-
Proactive communication and collaboration with Project Teams to ensure design technology tools, office standards and resources meet business needs.
-
Work with the fellow directors being the liaison between HR and management on all hiring needs, learning/mentoring activities, and professional development opportunities.

Coordinating with teams to implement strategies and cross training efforts.
-
Analyze budgets to minimize expenses without sacrificing profits.
-
Identify problems and develop effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
-
Monitor changing market conditions and adjusting strategies accordingly.
Required Qualifications:
-
10+ years of experience in Mechanical and Plumbing design in a construction-based (AEC) industry.
-
Bachelor’s degree required: focus in Architecture, Engineering, Business, Construction, or other related fields.
-
Minimum of 10 years of Operations Management experience in an Architectural/Engineering firm and/or related Construction management experience is strongly preferred.
-
Architecture/Engineering practitioner experience is strongly preferred with a thorough understanding of all project design, documentation, and construction phases / process.
-
Leadership experience with a focus on developing and championing firm-wide initiatives.
-
Ability to champion firm wide initiatives across all levels of the firm to ensure firm-wide standards are successfully adopted and applied consistently.
-
Advanced proficiency with project and resource planning and implementation.
-
Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills.
-
Ability to take a complex idea/concept and deliver it in a way that makes sense to day-to-day users.
-
Meticulous attention to detail, quality, and thoroughness: great problem solving and analytical skills.
-
Proactive and able to work independently with good judgement and minimal direction.
-
Highly organized and capable of effectively handling multiple project and tasks concurrently with the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
