Principal-In-Charge / Senior Architect

Seth Cavin is the founding principal and owner of Spur Design. He is a Service-Disabled Veteran, a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) & American Society of Healthcare Architects (ASHA), a LEED® Accredited Professional, and a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He is a licensed architect and currently serves as the Vice President for the Central Oklahoma Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Seth has significant project management, project design, and existing facility assessment experience on VA Healthcare projects and is VA SEPS certified. Under his leadership and direction, the Spur Design team makes understanding, meeting, and implementing client project needs their first priority.

John Sommers, PE, LEED AP, CGD

Lead Mechanical Engineer / Principal

John has 27 years of experience working with multiple project types including Military, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Transportation, and Retail. John has played an integral role in the development of sustainable MEP engineering technologies for a major U.S. retail client. John is a LEED Accredited Professional and has worked on multiple LEED certified projects that have been awarded Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum status. John is also a Certified Geothermal Designer and ASHRAE member.

Jeff Wheeler, PE LEED AP

Lead Electrical Engineer / Principal

Jeff has 22 years of experience in working with multiple project types including Healthcare, Military, Mission Critical, Office/Corporate, Transportation, Retail, Laboratory and Sustainable. Jeff is a LEED Accredited Professional and has worked on multiple LEED certified projects that have been awarded Certified, Silver, and Gold status. Jeff has been a Lead Electrical Engineer/MEP Project Manager for projects delivered to multiple government agencies, including the VA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force Global Strike Command, GSA, Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the FAA.

Brian Franklin, MS

Contract Manager / Design Support Services / Principal

Brian Franklin, a Service Disabled Veteran, has more than 26 years of construction industry experience and has worked in all facets of the construction industry. In addition to his knowledge of construction processes, procedures, and costs, he has experience working for both federal and non-federal clients as an Environmental Scientist, remediation and monitoring of hazardous materials. He spent several years working for a general contractor in New Orleans both before and after hurricane Katrina.

Certifications: 40-hour HAZWOPER Training, 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety, & RCRA Training

Training Completed: Field Safety Officer, Facilities and Infrastructure Site Manager, Adult CPR/FA, & BSA Life Guard

Ryan Gibson, AIA

Senior Architect / Phoenix Studio Manager / Principal

Ryan Gibson is a Registered Architect in Oklahoma with over 15 years of experience on a wide range of project types, particularly Federal, Healthcare, and Education. He has extensive experience managing projects and project teams throughout all phases of design and construction. Ryan also has experience as a VA COR and a California Licensed General Contractor.
