This new Cancer Treatment Center was designed to complement the surrounding buildings on the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center campus with matching brick, cast stone, and aluminum window systems. The interior was designed with a balance of aesthetics, durability and timelessness in order to create a welcoming environment for veterans and their families.
The intent of this project was to create a full-service Cancer Treatment Center to serve the Shreveport area by including medical oncology, radiation oncology and hematology services under one roof. The Medical Oncology Department included (14) chemotherapy bays, an isolation room, pharmacy, blood draw, (8) exam rooms and triage. The Radiation Oncology Department included (2) linear accelerators, a computed tomography (CT) simulator, (3) exam rooms, an exam procedure room, dosimetry, and physics lab.
Spur Design issued 100% Construction Documents, but the project was canceled due to budget restraints.

Spur Design is providing A&E services for this renovation and addition project that will enlarge the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Prescott VA Hospital in the “B” wing of Building 107. The design will optimize the current footprint by creating a centralized waiting room, wide hallways, and larger rooms for the efficient operation of each piece of equipment. It will also shorten the distance between the Diagnostic Imaging Department and the Ambulatory Care Department to create a more efficient path of travel for staff and patients. New spaces will include (1) CT, (1) SPECT CT, (1) Fluoroscopy, (2) General X-Ray, Radiopharmacy, and a Stress Lab.
