Additional Information

The scope of this project included interior and building systems design for the remodel of the current Veteran Canteen Service (VCS) Patriot Store into the Medical Media and Patient Library. Additionally, the existing library space was remodeled to become the VCS Patriot Store canteen and retail space.

The Medical  Media and Patient Library space includes high-density storage for Medical books, journals, and periodicals. Each space includes a wall mounted television, table seating, lounge seating, and computer stations. A through-wall book return was also designed for after-hours returns.

The VCS Patriot store included the adaptive reuse of the former library space into the specifications of a vendor-designed store layout. Changes included removing walls and doors to open the space and adding walls to make the retail layout feasible. Our scope included the demolition and disposal of existing equipment, the construction schedule, the installation of equipment, electrical work, painting, and general lighting. The project required a multi-phased construction approach: the Canteen was completed in February 2016 and the Medical Media Library began construction shortly thereafter.
